Hinton (1863-1908) a founder member of the British Linked Ring Brotherhood, was editor of the Amateur Photographer. (London)  Speaking of Hinton, J. Dudley Johnson said about Hinton:   “I think it was Horsley Hinton who has exercised the most profound influence on British landscape photography and raised it to a higher plane of imaginative vision…..During his brief career - 1889 to 1907 - he was the greatest force operating in the sphere of British photography.”
