Lacking a front free endpaper as might be found in a traditional volume or even photo album, Helen’s hand-made album is shown opened at the front with the front pastedown made from blue art paper extending the full width of the opened volume. When acquired, her calling card (Helen Chase Gage) was found loosely inserted. Gage spent her early childhood at 2 Avon Road in Bronxville, New York but assembled the album at her family’s summer home in New Hampshire.
